A board where the top spot costs five euros. Not five and rising — five, always.
Auction boards work beautifully at first. Then they stop working. The top spot climbs to five figures, the early winners settle in, and anyone arriving later does the maths and closes the tab. The board is still up, but the game is over.
The problem isn't the execution. It's that the highest bidder wins, and there's always someone with deeper pockets who got there first.
So we inverted it. Here the top spot goes to whoever paid most recently. Money buys you the front of the queue for as long as nobody else pays — never a permanent seat.
You pay €5 and you're first. Everyone else moves down one. When somebody else pays their €5, they go ahead of you and you move down one too.
Every minute you spend at the top is banked. You keep those minutes even after you get overtaken.
All the money paid goes into a pot. Each time the pot reaches a milestone, whoever has banked the most minutes wins a featured banner for seven days. The banner enters at the bottom of the column, moves up as the older ones leave, and after seven days gives up its place.
We are not affiliated with outbid.lol. It is a good product and it gave us the idea for the opposite one.
We're also new, and small. The board has just opened, so there isn't a crowd yet. We'd rather say that than pretend otherwise: you can see exactly how much has been paid at the top of the front page, and that number is real.
And one of the listings is mine: OOTDly. I built this board and put my own app on it to get it moving, which is what you do when a board is empty. The rest belong to other people.
